Nasya Dimitrova President

Nasya joined the organization in 2012 and after having volunteered in various roles became a President in May 2014.

Nasya enjoys collaborating with multicultural and open-minded individuals who share the common goal to work together in a friendly and respectful manner to deliver positive result to society, in exchange of knowledge and showing trust to individual talents and inspirations.

She holds a Master Degree in Economics from the University of Economics - Sofia, Bulgaria and an Executive MBA from the IE Business School - Madrid, Spain.

She is currently working in Finance at Nestlé.
Hulya Kurt
Executive Vice President

Hulya works at Thomson Reuters as Business Implementation and Strategy Manager, at the same time acting as Global C-chair within the Diversity & Inclusion global steering committee and driving the D&I agenda. Hulya is passionate about fostering and supporting women in advancing their career and following their ambitions.

After my role as VP for events, where I created the strategy and managed the pipeline of events at OWIT, I moved to the Executive Vice President role within OWIT and am looking forward to create our achievable strategy and vision for this year and beyond. I am fully committed to contributing to the success of our organization with my passion and energy and wish to collaborate across the various teams, volunteers and to have fun at the same time.
Loredana Serban Treasurer

Loredana joined OWIT in Nov 2012  as Assistant Treasurer and data base Administrator. She has a BA in Economics and a Master in Financial Management.

Loredana enjoys being in backstage and make things possible, that's why she went through multiple support roles in Business Administration and Finance, in both Profit and non-Profit organizations. 

She is a good melange of hard and soft. She loves numbers and the story they can say as much as she loves working and connecting with people.
Catherine Gambotto VP Partnership

Catherine is responsible for Partnership at OWIT Lake Geneva. She became a member of OWIT Lake Geneva in 2012.

Catherine is an independent administrator and management consultant in international operations, with broad experience in information technology, storage and software. She is a member of the executive committee of RASA, Raus aus der Sackgasse association, and a member of Cercle suisse des administratrices. She is also leading a foundation involved in community issues. She lived in the USA for ten years where she joined IBM Corp. holding several top management positions in business operations and project management across the USA and Europe gaining unique and valuable thirty-year experience.

Catherine holds an MBA from University of California Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and dual International Business degree and Law degree from University of Paris.
Joelle Thonet VP Events

Joelle is a diplomatic attaché at the Permanent Mission of Cameroon to the United Nations. She focuses on human rights, gender equality and sustainable development. She has previously worked for the British Council where she coordinated educational programmes and the House of Lords as a junior political researcher. 

Joelle is energetic and entrepreneurial, and deeply believes in the power of collaboration. In 2012 she successfully co-founded Arts Hotels in France. Passionate about supporting women in business and diplomacy, she joined the OWIT Lake Geneva’s Executive Board as VP Events in 2016.

She is a British national with a Bachelor of Science in International Politics and is based in Geneva.

Anca Gosling
VP Marketing Communications

Anca joined the Executive Board by stepping into the role of VP Marketing Communications in 2016. She is responsible for leading the marketing and communication strategy, online content management, monthly newsletters, event promotion and managing key stakeholders.

Anca is passionate about strengthening women’s role in international business. Result-oriented and dynamic, she believes that through integrity, hard-work, collaboration and networking women can reach their highest potential.

Anca works for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as a Product Manager, Airline Management, Aviation Law & Environment training. She holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) Geneva, specializing in European Economy.


Birgit Thomsen Guth
General Council

Birgit joined OWIT Lake Geneva as a member in 2010.

Since 2014 she provides legal advice and assistance to the Executive Board members on matters linked to the functioning and administration of OWIT; first through job-sharing and since 2015 as sole Legal Counsel.

Birgit holds an iuris doctor degree from the University of Marburg/Germany. Her field of competence includes i.e. Contracts, Corporate Governance, Intellectual Property Issues, etc., gained through 25 years of working experience with international law firms, Multinational Corporations and the Swiss Administration.

Birgit loves to connect with people and is passionate about setting the right intentions to get things done and to include creativity to her work method.

Active Volunteers

Chokoufeh Samii Administrator

As a career counselor and Adult Educator, Chokoufeh has been working with women in Geneva for more than 20 years. She also specializes in Gender issues.

Chokoufeh joined OWIT to be part of an international and dynamic network which offers women the opportunity to widen their social and professional horizons.The strength of OWIT resides in the diversity of its people who are willing to share their skills and knowledge.That is what she was looking for, and she found it at OWIT.

Veronika Stoilovski Mentorship Program coordinator & MNM Geneva host

Working for years in trading environment and now in banking, women career development has been always a meaningful cause for me. I was previously involved in the creation of internal professional women’s committee and coordinating events related to women’s personal and professional development.

In 2015 I have joined OWIT Lake Geneva and almost immediately I volunteered within the event team. OWIT Lake Geneva is a great place for the exchange of ideas with women from different professional environment, a place to learn and to share, to get support and mentoring when you need. I thrive on the excitement of being involved at every level of each project and my best award is great feedback for the work done.

Ekaterina Filippova MarCom team volunteer 
  Ekaterina, or Kat as she is known to friends, has been a member and volunteer for OWIT since November 2016. She has been taking care of website upgrade to make sure that it better reflects the organisation's professionalism, and its warm and welcoming atmosphere.

When she isn't volunteering for OWIT, she runs her own business, eKat Communication. She helps small companies and entrepreneurs in the Lake Geneva region create an effective, authentic and professional online presence that attracts new and better customers - in French, English and Russian.

Originally Russian, Kat has called Switzerland her home for the past 13 years. 
 Katherine McGregor Events Team Volunteer
  Katherine joined OWIT Lake Geneva in 2016 having previously been a member of OWIT Ottawa in Canada and an active volunteer for the OWIT International Board.  Katherine is a global trade specialist who focuses on helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from developing countries connect to global markets.  

Katherine currently works at the International Labour Organization (ILO) on SME policies and workplace training programmes. Her previous roles include working for a national aid for trade organization in Canada, holding several positions in the Canadian government, and supporting grassroots organizations for human rights and disarmament in Senegal and Nepal.  

Katherine is an MBA Candidate at the University of Geneva and a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP). She is Canadian and currently based in Geneva.   

Immediate Past President

Violette Ruppanner OWIT International VP of Strategy

Violette has been a member of OWIT Lake Geneva since 2008. She first supported the association as a volunteer, then as VP Partnership and later as Executive VP. In 2010, she became the acting President and was formally elected as President in 2011, a position she held until 2013. In 2014, she joined the Board of OWIT International, where she was first in charge of Partnerships and now of Strategy.

Violette is a strategy & management consultant with Strategos, a Swiss boutique consulting practice active in strategy and organizational development, management of multi-stakeholder processes and professional coaching and training.

She holds a MS in Economics and Trade from Lausanne University (HEC), an Executive Master in Management of Technology (MoT) from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL) and an MBA in Marketing and Leadership and Change Management from Michigan State University.
