Social Entrepreneurship:
 A Deeper Look into its Meaning and Societal Impact

This event on a popular and sometimes misunderstood topic of Social Entrepreneurship will shed more light on the subject, and will allow participants to look deeper into the benefits and effects of it. The event will take place in French, with Q&A session both in French and English.

Objective(s): 

To discuss how social entrepreneurship can create economical value while benefiting the society at large, through positive and highly impactful change

To discuss how women entrepreneurs can relate to social entrepreneurship, through the values it brings

Speakers:

Aurore Bui

CEO of Softweb, social innovation expert

Aurore is a social innovation consultant and the founder of Softweb, a social incubator based in Geneva. After a first career in management consulting and IT, she specialized in social innovation, aiming at supporting high impact projects using innovative methodologies.

Aurore writes a chronicle on social innovation and is an international speaker, expert and jury for a number of organizations including Startup Weekend, Geneva Forum for Social Change, Zurich Business Forum, Ashoka and Euforia. She is the co-president of WECF, an ECOSOC NGO active in voicing Women’s voice in environmental issues. She also acts as a Business Mentor for the Cherie Blair Foundation.

Aurore has a dual background as an engineer (ISEN, King’s College London) and as a non-profit organizations manager (University of Geneva, IHEID). She advises individuals, companies and non-profit organizations on how to foster social innovation.

Lina Sandoval

Social entrepreneur, creator of Tricrochet, winner of the CSR idea at IDDEA (2013)


Lina Sandoval is the founder of Tricochet, an NGO which aims to recycle plastic materials and bags into a variety of useful environmentally-friendly items.

Lina's project Tricrochet is a winner of two Prizes related to Social Responsibility and Ethics, IDDEA and Foundation Ethique et Valeurs.

Lina holds a Degree in Public Management and International Relation (Bogota) and a Masters in Territorial Development (Geneva). She organizes workshops which promote occupational integration.
